Mesh designations describe grain size grades. Abrasive selection depends on the workpiece material, required profile, equipment settings and desired finish. A grain size designation alone does not replace a process trial.

Grain sizeSelection guidance
20/40 meshCoarser grade — processing requiring a more intensive abrasive action.
30/60 meshMedium grade — surface preparation and coating removal.
80 meshFiner grade — selected to suit processing requirements, including compatible waterjet systems.

These descriptions provide initial selection guidance. Confirm the final application and availability for your chosen product.
